Last week I went to Chiangmai, a province in the north part of Thailand, since it is the time called "Koapansa" in Thai. This is the time of rainy season in Thailand, of course, some may say that there's a lot of rain throughout the year. But during these three months, there will be heavy rain most of the time. That's the reason why the Lord of Buddha announced that these whole three months, the monks should stay only in their own premises or else they might harm the rice field of the villagers, since it's the time that the rice field is so bountiful.
That's why this ceremony is so important in Thailand, cause we as the Buddhists will go to wat with a very big candle, which will be used to give light in the temples [in the past there's no electricity in Thailand] but nowadays, we bring fluorescence instead.
More than that this year the day of "Koapansa" is on the same day of the birthday of our beloved prime minister Dr. Thaksin Shinnawattra. I along with my husband and friends decided to attend the ceremony.
We drove to Chiangmai on Sunday, and early in the morning of the next day we went along with the caravan to three of the temples.
At all the temples we met red-shirted people there, all of them were so happy that we came.
I would like to tell about the last one I met at the last temple in Lumpoon. He's the northern man, not so old[about 30 years old]
talked to him, he was so happy to find out that we all came to attend this ceremony purposefully, while talking, the organizer turned on the song called "I'll be back" sung by Dr.Thaksin, surprisingly, I saw his face tearfully wet.
Why a man cried when thinking of his beloved prime minister, don't you all wonder why. How much money to buy the love of people, and if it's true that Thaksin bought people's love with money, how much money he has to spend and how come it lasts so long[since it's almost 4 years since he has been exiled]
Just to tell you this story to confirm some of you who still wonder whether the Love for Thaksin is real!
